Cookie and local storage Policy
What we store in your browser and why. Last updated: 15 April 2026.
1. What are cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files stored by a website in the user's browser. They may hold information about the session or preferences, or be used to track activity.
Local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) is a newer technology that operates similarly to cookies, but the data is stored exclusively in your browser and is not automatically sent to the server with every request.
Pursuant to Art. 173 of the Polish Telecommunications Act [Prawo telekomunikacyjne] and the provisions of GDPR, the use of such technologies for purposes other than those necessary for the provision of the service requires your consent. Use for necessary purposes only requires informing you - which we do in this document.
2. What categories of cookies we use
We divide cookies and similar technologies into three categories:
- Necessary (always active, do not require consent) - responsible for the operation of the chat, forms, accessibility settings, security.
- Analytics (require your consent) - help us understand how users use the website (Google Analytics 4).
- Marketing (require your consent) - enable measurement of advertising effectiveness and remarketing (Google Ads, Google Tag Manager as a tag container).
Analytics and marketing cookies are only loaded after your explicit consent given in the cookie banner. Before consent is given, no data is sent to Google or other providers.
We do not use: Meta Pixel (Facebook), LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar, Clarity, advertising affiliate networks.
3. Necessary cookies (no consent required)
The following data is stored in your browser (localStorage / sessionStorage) and is necessary for the website's functions to operate. They do not require consent, but we must inform you about them. They are not sent to our servers without your explicit action.
| Key | Contents | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
skai_session |
Random chat session identifier | Continuation of the chat conversation between visits to the website (necessary for the chat to function) | Until cleared by the user |
skai_storage |
History of the last chat conversation and data provided by you (NIP, company, email) - only if entered | Recognition of a returning user, so that they do not have to provide the same data again | Until cleared by the user |
skai_tooltip_seen |
Information that the chat prompt tooltip has already been displayed | So as not to show the same hint multiple times in the same session (sessionStorage) | Until the end of the browser session |
acc_state |
Your accessibility settings (increased contrast, larger font, reading mode) | So that your accessibility preferences are preserved on subsequent visits | Until cleared by the user |
skai_consent_v1 |
Your choice regarding cookie consents (analytics, marketing) with the date the consent was given | So as not to ask you for consent on every visit and so that we can document your consent (GDPR requirement) | 12 months from the date of giving consent |
4. Analytics cookies (after your consent)
If you consent to analytics cookies, we load the Google Analytics 4 tool (provider: Google Ireland Limited, EU). It allows us to understand how many people visit the site, where they come from and which content is popular. The data is aggregated and pseudonymised (the IP is shortened before being stored).
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishing unique users | 2 years | |
_ga_<ID> |
Maintaining GA4 session state | 2 years | |
_gid |
Distinguishing users within a day | 24 hours |
5. Marketing cookies (after your consent)
If you consent to marketing cookies, we load Google Tag Manager (a tag management container) and Google Ads (advertising conversion measurement, remarketing). Provider: Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au |
Conversion measurement (Google Ads) | 90 days | |
_gcl_aw |
Attribution of Google Ads clicks | 90 days | |
IDE |
DoubleClick (Google) | Remarketing, ad personalisation | 13 months |
test_cookie |
DoubleClick (Google) | Test of cookie support by the browser | 15 minutes |
We use Google Consent Mode v2. This means that even before obtaining your consent, Google may receive anonymous signals (without cookies, without identifiers) allowing it to estimate statistics. After your consent - full data. After refusal - only those anonymous signals or nothing, depending on the configuration.
6. How to clear stored data
You can delete the stored data at any time:
- In the chat - click the chat menu and then "Clear conversation".
- In the browser - your browser settings allow you to delete site data (cookies, localStorage) for a specific domain.
- Private / incognito mode - in private mode the data is automatically deleted when the window is closed.
Instructions for the most popular browsers
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
7. Server logs
For security purposes and to prevent abuse (DDoS attacks, form spam), we record in the infrastructure provider's logs the IP address, timestamp and type of request. Logs are kept for 30 days and are used solely for security purposes (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Details can be found in the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to the cookie policy
If we change the technologies used (e.g. add analytics tools), we will update this document and introduce a consent mechanism (cookie banner). The date of the last update is at the top of the page.
